First time setting up mhvtl in redhat 5.3

victor_mhvtl_2011
Hi,
I am new to this vtl tool, and has some questions:
1. Where can I find a detailed configuration guide for mhvtl?
For example, the syntax for device.conf, library_contents.xx , how mhvtl search each library_contents.xx?

2. I setup my mhvtl like this:
in /etc/mhvtl , I leave device.conf and library_contents.40 and mhvtl.conf there, removing all others:
Contents of device.conf like:
Library: 40 CHANNEL: 2 TARGET: 00 LUN: 00
 Vendor identification: STK
 Product identification: L700
 Product revision level: 0029
 Unit serial number: 60000040

Drive: 41 CHANNEL: 2 TARGET: 00 LUN: 01
 Library ID: 40 Slot: 01
 Vendor identification: QUANTUM
 Product identification: DLT-S4
 Product revision level: 0A0A
 Unit serial number: 60000041
 NAA: 40:11:22:33:ab:2:00:01
 Compression: factor 1 enabled 1

Drive: 42 CHANNEL: 2 TARGET: 00 LUN: 2

There is no 'DLT' emulation at the moment.

The documentation I have found is very generic and not enough to correctly code to.

Try Ait, ultrium, Stk 9x40/T1000 or IBM 03592

As for documentation. Yep, it can do with improving.
try 'man' pages, or ask here :)

Hi Mark,
Sorry to ask a foolish question:
How can I access "man" pages?

I tried to man mhvtl or man device.conf, no result.

Regards
Victor
