Netbackup 6.5.5 status 84 at the end of a tape

Postby asn » Sun Jun 27, 2010 5:03 am

I am running Netbackup 6.5.5 on Windows Vista, and MHVTL 0.18-7 VM running via Vmplayer on the same system.
I am using the Symantect device drivers and Vista iSCSI initiator

Backups that span tapes error with Netbackup status 84 "too many data blocks written, check tape/driver block size configuration" at the end of a tape, smaller backups that do not span tapes complete OK.

I have tried 262144 and 32786 in SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS but get the same result for both buffer sizes

I have tried using different drive emulations (Quamtum SDLT600 and IBM ULT3580-TD4) but get the same result for both drive types

Below is an extract from the bptm log

Does anyone have a working configuration on windows (device.conf file), or any suggestions

Thanks Adrian

I'll have to check it out.

All my testing is on Linux.. So perhaps there is something special via iSCSI ??

Cheers
