Netbackup job failes with error 96

Sandeep
Recently I installed mhvtl 1.4.7 with STGT on RHEL5 32bit. On web console I observed 01 Medium changer with 04 tape drive and 32 media. Out of four drive two are Gen5 and two are Gen4.
However Net backup (win2K8-R2 with NBU 7.0) still able to detect library with all four drive and media. But when I fire backup on tape I get error "unable to allocate new media for backup, storage unit has none available(96)". Pls find below screen.

The message/error code indicates you don't have any hcart2 media...

Configure 'media id generation' and 'barcode rules' to correctly set media types on inventory..

Note: The default barcode rules & drives was chosen as an 'education tool'
i.e. If you follow best practice with robot config & NetBackup, you won't have any problems..

Blindly jumping in, you will experence these type of issues.

Best bet is to configure barcode rules to set media type on inventory..
The list below shows you have told NetBackup that the cleaning tapes are data (DLT). This will also cause operational errors (FROZEN MEDIA) if these tapes are selected for backups.

The GUI does not have option to change media type.. Use CLI if going this route.
