Unable to access mhVTL from Solaris

Hi to All,

Team, i'm adding the mhvtl to my solaris 10 OS to interact with netBackup 7.5
Every Thing is well configured.
But when i start accessing the target i am getting the below error message in dmesg logs.

Please share the input.
I am not able to access the same by OS level and  also by netbackup sgscan.

But you need to share you configuration also including both mhVTL and TGT ..

Also, check to see of your st or sgen drivers are loaded :

There are several pieces of the puzzle you have left out.

What version of mhVTL are you using ?
What SCSI Target are you using (and version) ?
Solaris x86 or Sparc (and version - "uname -a") ?
Can you also supply the syslog from the mhVTL host ?

Last time I tried iSCSI on Solaris, the SCSA sg driver shipped with NetBackup does not support iSCSI transport. I am not aware if this has changed.

but confirm me.

Is mhvtl runs only on linux platform?
Is iscsi is the only way to share the target?

Correct. mhVTL requires a kernel module (pseudo SCSI LLD) which would need a replacement for each operating system.

Is iscsi is the only way to share the target?
No. Please search this forum for instructions for fibre-channel.
FCoE should be possible. I've just not have time to try it yet.

Is it possible to make my mhvtl server is same as my NetBackup server?
Yes. This would be the most common scenario. Or if you are a Windows/Solaris sort of person, use Linux/mhVTL as a media server with a Windows/Solaris master server. Your choice.
